Apparantly, I am not be able to pursue my Phd in this upcoming semester in UKM, Bangi, Malaysia. Why..?? Actually I have forwarded my proposal to the UKM and they have acknowledged me with a simple postcard mentiond that they have received my application. It is in the middle of their process of enrollment and usually it is gonna be successfull.
My position is the reason. Now I am holding position as Dy.Dean in my school. Just being promoted two months back. I am not surprised with the jobs, since I have watched my prev Dy. Dean closely how he drove everything in my School. Just because I do understand the job and its challenge, I come to the conclusion that I might not be able to continue my research in UKM about Bioinformatics. One new area in the range of Computer Science field that attract many researchers to be part of its development.
Be focus, concentrate and spend time to go to the silent lab is necessity for this area, which is not possible for me to do so. My position expose me with so many people in every single of my existence in my office. Sometimes I have to skip my breakfast or my lunch, to entertaint the people who need come to see me to solve their problems. I have to meet many people, or, I will fail to carry my duty as Dy.Dean.
Until, I see one advertisement for PhD program by UPM, University Putra Malaysia in Serdang. They open for new enrollment for the upcoming semester until August 2008. And I smile to see those, as I found one faculty that I might be able to perform my PhD in new area. Yes, new area, new field, no more in IT or Computer Science but Education Management.
One of my curiosity until today is about Class Management. Definitely it is not computer science field, but it is under Education Management. And to be linked with my prev background which is Computer Science, I would like to forward my new PhD proposal in Education Management. The title would be : A Study of Effective Class Management for Programming Subject.
I found this idea just 2 days back, after I realized that it is not possible for me to perform in Bioinformatics with my current job as different story maybe has been told if I hold a position as a regular lecturer.
Well, seems that my current job had re-directed me to different angle, different perspective. But a benefit I identified, should I take the Education Management. I may perform myself at once for two different purposes, for my Phd of course, and for my job. As one of my project is to produce more programmers in my faculty, and like everyone knows, Progamming Subject is a killer subject for most of IT students. It need an effective way of teaching delivery.
Indeed.
And that would be my next research, next project, and my next proposal for PhD.
